Nancy A. Utz
Assistant Prosecuting Attorney
Child Support Division
Nancy Utz serves as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in the Child Support Division of the Muskingum County Prosecutor’s Office. In this role, she represents the Muskingum County Child Support Agency in hearings regarding the establishment of paternity and enforcement of child support, and medical orders.
She brings over 30 years of legal experience to the office, including nearly two decades as a Special Assistant Prosecuting Attorney representing the Licking County Child Support Enforcement Agency in cases involving paternity, support calculation, and enforcement of interstate child support cases. Her earlier work as a sole practitioner focused on family law and juvenile representation, giving her a well-rounded perspective on complex legal and social issues.
Prior to entering public service in Ohio, Nancy served as a Captain in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps. There, she advised military commanders on administrative and regulatory matters, assisted service members and families with legal needs, and represented soldiers in administrative and court proceedings.
She holds a Juris Doctor from The Ohio State University College of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Hollins College.
A proud Ohio native with deep community roots, she has also served on the Licking Park District Board and as Commander of American Legion Post 254 in Johnstown.
