Prosecutor's Office supports Heroes Landing at annual golf outing
The Muskingum County Prosecutor’s Office is a proud supporter of Heroes Landing Children’s Justice Center.
On Monday, members of the prosecutor’s office teed off at the Zanesville Country Club for the fourth-annual Heroes Landing golf outing. The event raised nearly $40,000 this year.
Proceeds from the outing support Muskingum County’s own children’s justice center, which serves child victims of physical and sexual abuse.
Heroes Landing provides survivors of assault with care and support from members of a multidisciplinary team equipped with the knowledge expertise needed to treat children medically and mentally while seeking justice in one single age and emotionally appropriate location.
At Heroes Landing, survivors of sexual assault meet with members of the multi-disciplinary team equipped with knowledge and expertise to treat children and seek justice, in a single, age and emotionally appropriate atmosphere.
Heroes Landing officially opened to the children of Muskingum County in 2022.
The integration of a children’s justice center locally is a milestone for this community as it centralizes and localizes services and reduces some of the stress families face by keeping the necessary treatment and assessment appointments close to home.
It also allows for more immediate care, leading to timelier prosecution.
When a child comes to Heroes Landing, it is the center’s mission to empower survivors by providing evaluations and coordination of advocacy and care at the facility with all relevant service providers at once, including the physical and mental health providers, law enforcement and Children’s Services.
