Charges Filed Against Muskingum County Children Services Worker
ZANESVILLE, OH -
Charges have been filed against a Muskingum County Children Services worker, Ashley Steele, 37, of Senecaville for falsifying legal documentation in relation to services provided through children’s services as well as personal criminal history legal documents pertaining to her hire with the agency.
Children’s Services immediately terminated Ashley Steele and contacted law enforcement.
The Muskingum County Prosecutor's Office takes these offenses very seriously as the crimes Steele committed violate a duty of trust to the child and the community.
Eleven (11) charges of Tampering with Records, all felonies of the third-degree, allege that Steele tampered with government records. Ten (10) of the counts involve Steele falsifying information in reports she made as a caseworker for Muskingum County Children Services. The 11th count involves Steele providing a document that falsely stated she had a prior conviction sealed.
