Child Predator from Oklahoma Sentenced to 7 years in Prison

Kaymen Keenom, 26, from Wynnewood, Oklahoma, received a seven-year prison sentence in the Muskingum County Court for sexual abuse charges involving a 12-year-old child.

Details of the Case:

On September 13, 2024, a mandatory reporter informed MCSO Detective Sergeant Brady Hittle that a 12-year-old child was being targeted by an online predator. The detective learned that Keenom was asking the child to send nude photos to Keenom. Reports say the photos showed up on Snapchat, a popular social media platform.

Upon investigation, detectives discovered that Keenom was a resident of Wynnewood, Oklahoma. Detectives completed a search warrant on Keenom's social media accounts. The search warrant revealed that Keenom asked the 12-year-old victim for nude pictures. On multiple occasions Keenom also requested videos. Once Keenom realized that he might get caught, he told the victim to block him on Snapchat. Snapchat search warrants revealed the inappropriate relationship between Keenom and the victim.

Authorities issued a warrant for Keenom's arrest. On November 12, 2024, authorities arrested Keenom in Gavin County, Oklahoma. A Gavin County officer approached Keenom at his home. The officer informed him about the warrant from Ohio and the related charge. Reports state that Keenom did not react or appear surprised. The Oklahoma officer helped recover Keenom's two phones. Detectives checked the phones. They found that Keenom had received many images of child sexual abuse material. Authorities then transferred Keenom to Muskingum County to prosecute him for his crimes.

During his sentencing, Judge Anderson read details of the report to the court. The judge noted character reference letters for Keenom. One of which was from the mayor of Wynnewood, Oklahoma. When Anderson asked Keenom if the senders of the letters knew of his charges, he confirmed they did.

Judge Anderson revealed that Keenom planned to have the child live with him in Oklahoma. Keenom also had plans to adopt the victim. Keenom sent a Snapchat message to the victim which read, "it's be weird but oh well." He also mentioned that after he adopts her, they will live alone together in an apartment. He further stated she is definitely getting pregnant.

Judge Anderson sentenced Keenom to the recommended sentence of seven to ten and a half years in prison. Keenom will also be required to register as a Tier 2 Sex Offender every 180 days for 25 years.

The Assistant Prosecuting Attorney who handled the sentencing, John Litle, noted, “This case highlights the dangers that exist for children who have unmonitored access to phones and the internet,” He also added, “Parents wouldn’t let their child walk alone in a dark alley in Columbus, but not monitoring internet access can be just as great a danger.”

Litle further advised to parents, “Predators on the internet seek out children and know how to target them. Check on your children’s internet use, use apps that track them, there’s no reason for a teen to have Kik, Snapchat, or other apps that make their messages disappear.”
