Defendant Receives 30 Months in Prison for Obstructing Justice in Jail Escape Case
Eliveea Largent, 18, of Zanesville, appeared before Judge Cottrill today to receive sentencing for guilty charges stemming from her involvement in Wayne Pletcher’s escape from the Muskingum County Jail earlier this year.
Sentencing Details:
Largent pleaded guilty to three (3) separate charges, each a felony of third- degree, and each carrying with it a maximum sentence of 36 months in prison. Largent originally faced nine (9) years in prison for these charges.
1. Obstructing Justice – for hiding Pletcher in her home on February 1, 2025.
2. Obstructing Justice – for hiding Pletcher in her home again on February 2, 2025.
3. Tampering with Evidence – for deleting phone calls related to Pletcher’s escape.
At her sentencing, Assistant Prosecutor Warren T. Edwards argued for a thirty-month prison sentence for each charge, to be served consecutively to each other for a total sentence of seven and a half (7 ½) years.
Judge Cottrill did impose 30 months on each count, but ordered that each sentence be served concurrently, which means that Largent will serve each one at the same time, resulting in a total prison sentence of two and a half (2 ½) years.
The remaining eight (8) defendants involved in the jail escape are still awaiting sentencing.
