Man Sentenced to 11 Months in Prison Following Guilty Verdict at Jury Trial
(ZANESVILLE, OH)
On May 13, 2026, Robert Farmer, 50, was found guilty by a Muskingum County Jury for a charge that stems from drugs that were recovered following a traffic stop and arrest for an active warrant.
Farmer’s criminal history includes previous prison sentences and numerous convictions for crimes including Judicial Sanctions, Possession of Controlled Substances, Failure to Comply, Possession of Methamphetamine, Trafficking in Drugs, Resisting Arrest, Failure to Appear, Theft, and Felonious Assault.
At the time of the traffic stop, Farmer had an active warrant for a prior menacing charge. His driver’s license was also suspended.
Zanesville police confirmed Farmer’s identity and arrested him for his warrant. Farmer was then transported to the Zanesville City Jail.
Farmer’s vehicle was searched before being towed. During the search, officers located a burnt pipe on the center console and a latex glove on the driver’s seat that was tied closed. A burnt pipe is recognized by officers as being frequently used to smoke drugs.
Inside the tied glove, officers located a crystal substance found to be 0.36 grams of methamphetamine.
The Jury found Farmer guilty of Aggravated Possession of Methamphetamine, a felony of the fifth degree, finding he knowingly possessed the meth.
At the request of the State, represented by Assistant Prosecutor Warren Edwards and Assistant Prosecutor Jahan Karamali, Judge Kelly Cottrill moved directly to sentencing and imposed an eleven (11) month prison term.
