Muskingum County Prosecutor-Led Diversion Program Featured at 2026 Ohio Deflection Summit

Muskingum County’s prosecutor-led diversion program (DART) was selected to present at the 2026 Ohio Deflection Association Annual Summit, recognizing the program as a model for effective collaboration, accountability, and recovery-focused justice. This statewide platform highlights the Muskingum County Prosecutor’s Office leadership in advancing innovative deflection strategies that strengthen public safety while connecting individuals to treatment and support services.

Kasi Stewart, LPCC-S, Diversion Coordinator, who oversees the DART Program and works directly with participants, presented the diversion model to summit attendees. Her presentation highlighted best practices and practical strategies with the goal of helping other Ohio prosecutors’ offices successfully replicate the program.

At the conclusion of 2025 DART had 12 active program participants and 20 program graduates.

“Kasi does an outstanding job for the DART program,” said Prosecutor Ron Welch. “She connects with participants on a personal level and goes above and beyond in making certain they are connected to the best services for their needs. Her efforts are the primary reason the program has been successful.”
