Parole Denied for 2007 Muskingum County Child Rapist

In 2007 David R. White appeared in a Muskingum County Court of Common Pleas to receive sentencing for raping a 7-year-old child.

White was sentenced to life in prison with eligibility for parole after 10 years. White appeared for his first parole hearing in 2017. The parole board denied White’s release and continued it for a second hearing earlier this year in 2025.

This year, 2025, the parole board denied White’s release once more and continued his next hearing to be set in May of 2027.

Muskingum County Prosecutor Ron Welch stated “This defendant should die in a prison cell. White’s explanation for why he raped this child was the victim wanted it, and he finally gave in. He is the perfect example of why the death penalty should be an option in child rape cases.”

Details of the Case:

The child victim reported having suffered from various acts of sexual assault committed by White between the ages of 7 and 11.

David White raped his victim countless times over the course of 4 years to the point the victim was unable to provide a range of the number of times it happened.

During investigations White admitted to putting his fingers inside of the child and putting his penis on the child’s bottom. Furthermore, he blamed the child for him committing the sexual assault(s), refusing to take responsibility and told detectives the child, “just kept begging me and kept bugging me and bugging me and begging me and I said no, no, so I finally gave in, and I touched her vagina.”

The Muskingum County Prosecutor’s Office will always oppose White’s release.
