Phillip Norman Sentenced to 10 Years in Prison After Admitting Guilt to Rape
(ZANESVILLE, OH)
On October 27, 2025, Phillip R. Norman, appeared in the Muskingum County Court of Common Pleas to receive sentencing for a first-degree Rape charge.
The victim was present for sentencing, and an impact statement was read on her behalf to the Court.
Judge Cottrill sentenced Norman to ten (10) years in prison.
In addition to his prison sentence Norman is also required to register as a tier 3 sex offender. As a tier 3 sex offender Norman must appear in person to register with the Sheriff’s office every 90 days for the remainder of his life.
Upon his release from prison, Norman will also be placed on post release control, for five (5) years and be supervised by the adult parole authority.
