Prosecutor Welch shares Christmas classic with West M kindergartners
Muskingum County Prosecutor Ron Welch spent his Monday morning with a classroom full of kindergartners reading How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Members of the young jury sat on the floor to listen to the Christmas classic. While there was no official vote, the verdict seemed to be in Mr. Welch’s favor given the many laughs and smiles shared by all.
Mr. Welch did not hesitate to accept Kristin Parker’s invitation to read to her class at West Muskingum Elementary School. The opportunity to step out of his environment of criminal prosecution and into the colorful hallways of kindergarten served as a refreshing reminder of innocence and brought back memories of reading to his own children.
The kids were quick to share with Mr. Welch all their knowledge of police officers, including police cars with lasers. Mr. Welch also took the time to share how prosecutors work with law enforcement to keep the community safe.
