Prosecutors Take Oath of Office to Begin New Year

Attorneys with the Muskingum County Prosecutor’s Office began 2025 by taking their oath of office for the year.

On January 6, Ron Welch was sworn in to begin his second term as Muskingum County Prosecuting Attorney. The oath of office was administered by Common Pleas Court Judge Gerald Anderson.

Once Prosecuting Attorney Welch was sworn in, he administered the oath of office for all other assistant prosecutors.

Prosecutor Welch says taking an oath is important.

“Taking the oath of office for me and my assistant prosecutors is our promise to citizens that we will uphold the laws of Ohio and the United States without prejudice or bias towards any person,” Prosecutor Welch said. “There is nothing we take more seriously in our positions.”
