Zanesville Care Center Resident Sentenced to 33 Years in Prison for Rape of Disabled Victim
ZANESVILLE, OH –
On January 7, 2026, Keith Larrick, 47, of Zanesville, appeared in the Muskingum County Court of Common Pleas to receive sentencing for the kidnapping and rape of a disabled care center resident. Larrick, at the time of the rape was also a care center resident.
Last year Larrick admitted guilt to all charges in his indictment, including Kidnapping and four (4) counts of Rape, all felonies of the first degree.
During the sentencing hearing, the victim’s children explained the impact that the crime had upon their mother and their family while asking for the maximum sentence to be given.
Assistant Prosecutor John Litle, who handled the case, also argued for the maximum prison sentence, highlighting that all citizens will someday grow old and become vulnerable, and that Larrick’s conduct would be a nightmare for any family.
Litle pointed out that Larrick admitted in his pre-sentence investigation that he was prescribed medication due to his sexual misbehaviors.
Handing down the maximum possible sentence, Judge Anderson explained that, because the victim was unable to move on her own or speak, she was especially vulnerable.
“The only type of victim who would be more vulnerable would be an infant,” according to the Judge.
Judge Anderson sentenced Larrick to the maximum sentence of thirty-three (33) years in prison.
In addition, Larrick is also required to register as a tier 3 sex offender for the remainder of his life.
“This case has been a horrible tragedy for the victim and her family,” according to Litle. “A conviction for all the charges with a maximum sentence is the best the justice system can do for the victim, but the process of achieving closure and restoring her dignity is still just beginning.”
