Zanesville Man Facing 5 Years in Prison After Receiving Stolen Property

(ZANESVILLE, OH)

October 15, 2025, Schuyler Green, 29, appeared in the Muskingum County Court of Common Pleas to admit guilt to eleven (11) separate counts which include charges for the following:

Having Weapons While Under Disability, Receiving Stolen Property, Improper Handling Firearms in a Motor Vehicle and Receiving Stolen Property.

During the hearing, the State, represented by Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Warren Edwards, and the defense jointly recommended a five (5) year prison sentence be imposed on Green for the crimes.

Sentencing will be held at a later date.

Case Details:

On May 17, 2025, the Ohio State Highway Patrol was dispatched to a road in Nashport in reference to a vehicle parked in the middle of the roadway. The caller reported that the male driver seemed to be intoxicated.

Muskingum County Deputies were then dispatched to assist the Highway Patrol. The driver was identified as Schuyler Green.

Within the vehicle deputies located two dirt bikes, a semi-automatic handgun and several other miscellaneous items which led deputies to believe that the items were stolen.

Deputies then contacted nearby residents who confirmed items which were recently stolen from their property; the items reported stolen were identical to the items found in the vehicle.

Furthermore, deputies discovered that the vehicle Green was driving was also a stolen vehicle.
