Mark Zanghi
Assistant Prosecuting Attorney
Civil Division
Mark is an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in the Civil Division, providing legal representation to Muskingum County governmental agencies, boards, commissions, departments, elected officials and the twenty-five townships located within the county. He also serves as the prosecutor’s office representative to the Muskingum County Budget Commission, the Muskingum County Records Commission, and the Muskingum County Law Library Resources Board.
Prior to joining the Muskingum County Prosecutor’s Office in December of 2016, he served as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in the Civil Division of the Licking County Prosecutor’s Office, as an Assistant Knox County Public Defender, and as an associate attorney at the law firm of McDevitt, Mayhew and Malek, LPA in Mount Vernon, Ohio.
Mark is a graduate of the Ohio Northern University College of Law in Ada, Ohio. While attending Ohio Northern, he was a member of the William Howard Taft Inns of Court, taught a civil procedure review class for first year law students, and was also the LexisNexis student representative.
Mark served as law clerk for the Hon. Richard K. Warren of the Allen County Common Pleas Court in Lima, OH, and also served judicial internships for the Hon. Salvatore Martoche and the Hon. Joseph Gerace of the New York State Supreme Court in Mayville, NY. Mark received his undergraduate degrees from Hilbert College in Hamburg, NY (B.S. in Paralegal Studies) and Fredonia State University College in Fredonia, NY (B.A. in Political Science).
Mark is admitted to practice law in the State of Ohio and in the Federal Courts for the Southern District of Ohio. He is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, the Muskingum County Bar Association, the Ohio Prosecuting Attorney’s Association, the Ohio Township Association, the National District Attorney’s Association, and F.O.P. Zane Lodge No. 5. Mark served as President and Vice-President of the Knox County Bar Association, and served on the Knox County Law Library Resources Board, the Knox County Regional Planning Commission, and the Licking County Law Library Resources Board.
Before beginning his legal career, Mark was a sales representative for Power Drives, Inc., a distributor of electrical/mechanical and hydraulic/pneumatic motion control products for industry. He was also the director of sales and marketing for A. J. Wahl, Inc., a designer and manufacturer of machinery for the ceramic industry, and belonged to the American Ceramic Society and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers.
